Hand – Miriam Pangilinan Hand, age 64, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, at Community Hospice St. Vincent's Southside with her loving family by her side. Miriam was born in Angeles City, Philippines on May 21, 1961, to the late Juanito Pangilinan and Bibiana Pangilinan. She spent her formative years in the Philippines graduating from Holy Angel College earning her high school diploma and her associates degree. In her early 20's, Miriam met her best friend and forever companion, Berkley Kenneth "B.K." Hand. They were happily married on October 26, 1985, and Miriam moved to the United States a few months later. Miriam was a devoted military wife, proud bonus mother, and loving grandmother. While in the miliary B.K. was stationed in several locations, so their family travelled often. Upon his honorable discharge in 1991, they made Jacksonville their forever home. Miriam was a woman of great faith and had a deep love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her belief was a cornerstone in her life and guided her throughout the years. Miriam was a longtime member of Mount Olives (BNO) Church in the Philippines. Even with great distance she was actively involved, always tuning in by phone or messenger to their powerful services. Every Sunday at 2:30 am she was alert and ready to learn and grow in Christ. Miriam also enjoyed praise and worship. She thoroughly enjoyed all gospel music, but especially enjoyed Hillsong Worship and CeCe Winans. Miriam was also successful professionally. She enjoyed a long career with Blue Cross Blue Sheild specializing in Administrative Overpayment Recovery. More than anything, Miriam was most passionate about her family. She cherished each moment and was filled with overwhelming joy when visiting her grandbabies. The icing on the cake was when she had her grandbabies on our local beaches. Watching the sunrise, sand on her skin, walking along the sweet shores, hearing children playing and ocean waves were always appreciated. She was such a treasure to her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Miriam was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Christina J. Moore; and 2 brothers.

Miriam is survived by loving husband of 39 years, Berkley "B.K." Hand of Jacksonville, FL; son, Kenneth Ray Hand of Virginia; son-in-law, Mark Moore of Birmingham, AL; brother, Mario (Rowena) Pangilinan of Philippines; Nida (Cezar) Del Mundo of Philippines; 7 grandchildren; along with several extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Miriam's Life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Lighthouse Assembly of God 1010 Melson Ave. Jacksonville, FL 32254 with Pastor DJ Breden officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Ferreira Funeral Services, 1320 Chaffee Road South, Jacksonville, FL, 32221, 904-378-7777. A best friend is more than just a companion-they´re the keeper of your stories, your laughter, your hardest moments, and your best days. The bond is deep, personal, and unique. When a best friend passes, it´s not just a loss of a person-it´s a loss of part of yourself. Sending my condolences to the family. Miriam Baldrich
