Miriam M. Wampole, 86, formerly of Walnutport, passed away peacefully Friday, August 15, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Donald Wampole, who passed away in 2021. Born in Bethlehem on January 11, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester D. and May E. (Friend) Houser. Miriam was a graduate of Nazareth Area High School. Professionally, she worked as a seamstress and spent later years as a nurse’s aide. Miriam was a faithful member of Bethany Wesleyan Church in Cherryville and was an active volunteer with the Second Chance Shoppe in Slatington. Miriam found beauty in ordinary things and spent her free time dancing, crafting, and collecting any animal that crossed her path.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Curtis A. Silfies and wife Faten of Fogelsville, Karen L. Zimmerman and husband Donald C. Zimmerman of Allentown, Troy D. Wampole and wife Kimberly of New Tripoli; grandchildren: Sarah M. Belkoff and husband Joshua I. Belkoff, Sean D. Zimmerman, Jacob T. Wampole, Cassady J. Wampole, Olivia S. Silfies, Norah S. Silfies; great-grandchildren: Asher & Callen; Sisters: Betty Ann Lewis, Carol Reinhart; brother: Donald Houser. She was pre-deceased by siblings, Faith Stefancin, Frank Houser.
Private family services will be held. Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
