Mistie M. Ellison Murphy
Mistie M. Ellison Murphy, 47, passed away on January 17, 2025 in Vero Beach, Florida.
Mrs. Murphy was born on June 4, 1977 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to Janis Ellison & Lloyd Smith.
Mistie graduated from Central High School and Indian River State College. She worked at Renaissance Charter School and was a past deputy at the St. Lucie County Jail. She was a member of Port St. Lucie Church of Christ. She loved books, playing World of Warcraft, and watching scary movies. She truly enjoyed being a world history teacher to the 6th grade.
Survivors include her mother, Janis Bee (Craig) of Fort Pierce, FL; stepfather, Michael Bee of Palestine, WVA; father, Lloyd M. Smith of Parkersburg, WVA; son, Dillon Murphy of Fort Bliss, TX; daughter, Logan Murphy (Austin) of Port St. Lucie, FL; former husband, Darrel Murphy (Wendi) of Port St. Lucie, FL; sisters, Malina Bee of Palestine, WVA, Samantha Smith of Vienna, WVA and Helen Smith of Florida; aunts and uncles, Cindy Carmichael of Vero Beach, FL, Gary (Gail) Santee of Williamstown, WVA, Steve (Bonnie) Bailey of Gloucester, VA, Kathy (Roger) Dye of Tennessee; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Dalton, maternal grandparents, Bea & Bill Santee, brother, Mark Smith, and uncle, Larry Ellison.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
