Mitchell "Mitch" Todd Holder passed away at his home on Friday, November 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with cancer.
Mitch was born on September 25, 1965, to Henry and Betty Joyce (Pomykal) Holder and grew up in San Antonio. He was an Eagle Scout and a Brotherhood Member of the Order of the Arrow, competing nationally with his Indian dance team. He graduated from MacArthur High School in 1984 and later attended Texas A&M University, majoring in Turf Management.
Mitch was a true outdoorsman at heart. He found joy in working, fishing, hunting, and golfing-activities that allowed him to connect with nature and those closest to him. He spent many years coaching Little League and Select baseball and treasured the time he shared with the boys, their families, and the game. Mitch loved being with his family at the lake or the beach, where he often shared his words of wisdom as the resident campfire "philosopher." Every now and then, he would break out his "Mitchy Boy" dance for a select few, a reminder of the spirited side of his personality.
Mitch is survived by his wife, Cathy Holder; daughter, Ashley Holder; son, Zach Holder and his wife, Kaitlyn; stepson Adam Carley; and two grandchildren, Adalyn and Brooks Holder, all of Brenham, Texas.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral service. His remains will be returned to the great outdoors he loved so dearly, where his spirit will forever roam free. Though he is deeply missed, we find comfort knowing he is now at peace with his Lord-free from pain and enjoying endless Coors Lights.
Memorials in Mitch's honor may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or given to Cathy Holder to help defray medical costs.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, 208 W. Pearl St., La Grange, Texas. Family and friends can view and sign the guestbook online at www.lagrangefunerals.com.
