As the beloved son of the late Annie Mae Holifield, Mitchell Holifield was born on September 27, 1964, in Marion, Alabama, and was a cherished member of a large and loving family. He confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Hopewell Baptist Church, where he served before moving to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he became a public servant and a favorite in the community among many friends.
He departed this life on Sunday, August 11, 2024, in Harrisburg Hospital.
He was preceded in his heavenly journey by his mother; brother, Henry Lewis Holifield; and sister, Willie Pearl Holifield.
To cherish his memories, he leaves a loving and devoted wife, Katie Holifield of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; daughter, Syreena Thomas of Marion, Alabama; stepson, Raymond Lewis; sisters, Donette Brown, Bernadette (Ira) Smith, and Tamieka Brown, all of Orlando, Florida, and Veronica Holifield of Maryland; grandmother, Danette C. Holifield of Fort Wayne, Indiana; special cousins, Keith and Kelvin Jones of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
