Mitchell Misiasz Obituary

Misiasz , Mitchell "Mitch"
5/14/1983 - 7/23/2024
Kalamazoo
Age 41, passed away from a ruptured aorta on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. He was born in Kalamazoo on May 14, 1983, the son of Richard and Rhonda (Ryan) Misiasz. A selfless person with a kind and gentle heart, Mitch was loved by many. His smile, laughter and joy for life will be missed by all who know him. Mitch graduated from Hackett Catholic High School, Class of 2001 and worked on his master's degree at WMU. He was passionate about helping others, which lead to a career in social work at Integrated Services of Kalamazoo, where he focused on helping people find housing. Mitch loved his work and often put the needs of others ahead of his own. When not working he enjoyed the simple treasures of life. He spent many hours in his garden and loved flowers. He loved art and was a Broadway musical fan, never missing a chance to see his favorite production, Rent. He was soft natured and loved spending time with his dogs, "Hilde and Olivia". Above all, Mitch loved his family and friends. He was a proud son and grandson, a loyal brother, a doting uncle and a dedicated friend who leaves behind many wonderful memories to cherish. To know Mitch was to love him and he will be missed. He is survived by his loving parents, Richard and Rhonda; siblings, Meaghan (Abid Khan) Misiasz; Matthew (Jacqueline) Misiasz; nieces and nephews, Layth and Myza Khan, Giovanni, Rosaleigh and Deangelo Misiasz; an extended family and many friends. He was preceded in passing by his grandparents, Norm (Joan) Ryan and William (Loraine) Misiasz. Cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering to honor Mitch's life will be held at Joldersma and Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick St. Kalamazoo, MI 49001, on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Integrated Services of Kalamazoo, or CARES of Kalamazoo (https://caresswm.org/donate/), envelopes available at the funeral home. To Mitch´s parents and family:
My daughter and I met Mitch at a restaurant he worked at in Kalamazoo. We spoke with him every time we came and he was so kind . I ended up advising him on classes a few times at KVCC. I hadn´t talked to him in a quite a few years. We were so saddened to learn of his passing. My sincere condolences to the family.

I grew up with Mitch in school and feel fortunate to have called him a friend. I remember him as confident in who he was and what he valued, outgoing and social, and I know he loved his family above all else.
Condolences.

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Mitchell as one of his clients at ISK and he was the one who kept me from being homeless after my eviction due to Covid. He helped me get into an apartment and i know many people in the Kalamazoo area that he has helped. He was a very caring and compassionate person and I wish there was more people in the world like him. I am so sorry for your loss. He was an amazing person who cared for others.
