Gaffney, SC - Mitchell Mullinax, 73, of 974 McKowns
Mountain Road, passed away on Thursday, June 6th, 2024, at Cherokee Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, SC, he was the husband of Betty Mullinax, and the son of the late Marshall Dean Mullinax and Mildred Painter Mullinax. Mitchell was an avid quail hunter, cattle farmer, and loved tractors.
In addition to his wife of 54 1/2 years, Betty, surviving Mr. Mullinax are two sons, Hiram "Hank" Mullinax (Dawn), and Marshall "Lee" Mullinax (Theresa), both of Gaffney; sister, Nell Gentry, of Gaffney; Grandchildren, Brandon Mullinax (Caitee), Dustin Beattie, Danielle Dorshimer (Roy), Jesse Barnette (Morgan), Michael Barnette (Tiffini), Alyssa Barnette, Logan Johnson (Lucas); and one uncle, Charlie Painter.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mullinax was preceded in death by a daughter, Baby Mullinax; sister, Marsha Orr; and grandparents, Hiram Arthur and Versee Mullinax, and Dewey and Corrie Painter.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 10th, 2024 at 2:00pm at Mt Ararat Baptist Church, 412 McKowns Mountain Rd. Gaffney, SC 29340, with Rev. Tommy Wright and Rev. Alan Peeler officiating. A visi- tation will follow, and interment will be at the church cemetery. Josh Patterson, Allan Reynolds, John Putman, David Sossman, Hunter Judd, and Jesse Barnette will serve as pallbearers.
The family will be at the residence.
