Mitzi E. McGarrigle, 90, of Newfield, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Mitzi was born on January 30, 1935 in Arkport, NY to Gaylord and Harriet (Sherner) Howe.
Mitzi lived in Newfield for 40 plus years. She was a member of the Nazarene Church and for many years was their pianist. Mitzi worked at Oak Hill Nursing Home. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was in the care of her eldest daughter Sharon Northrup and husband Freeman for her last days. She is survived by Sharon & Freeman, Richard & Barbara McGarrigle, David & Claudia McGarrigle, Barbara & Charley Bayley, James McGariggle, and Jason McGarrigle, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her sister Marilyn Hynes and brother Michael Howe and many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased in death by her husband Richard, son Jon and twin sister Maureen. We will miss her very much but know she is with the Lord.
In lieu of flowers please consider a charity of your choice. In the Spring of 2026 we will be having a celebration of life for Mitzi and will be posting a date, time and place.
