Obituary of Mitzi (Marguerite) T. Ritting
Mitzi was preceded in death by her father Rudy, mother Loretta, husband Carl, brothers King and George, her son Peter, son-in-law Chuck and grandsons Rick and Larry. Mitzi is survived by son Andrew Ritting and his wife Jan, son Mark, and daughter Robyn Todd and her husband Jim, and daughter Candace Ritting.
Mitzi always loved family and friend of which she had many, she was a long-time peninsula art league member, and we are thankful for her many paintings. She was a longtime volunteer at the Gig Harbor FISH food bank. She was active member in the homeowner's association at Quiet Forest and made many friends there these last few years.
Mitzi valued her family and friends, loved to play cards, enjoyed the birds and flowers on her deck and shared her life and stories with all she met. She felt strongly about the importance of faith and the teachings of the bible. Mitzi was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and she will be deeply missed.
A memorial Mass will be held at Saint Nicholas Church 3510 Rosedale St. NW, Gig Harbor, WA 98335 at 10 am on Thursday November 4. (The Church requires masks for all attendees) There is a covered area outside where the service can be heard. We ask that those unwilling to wear a mask and the unvaccinated use this provided space.
A reception will be at Gig Harbor Yacht Club 8209 Stinson Avenue, Gig Harbor immediately following. (Yacht Club requires all to wear masks except when sitting and eating or drinking) The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made in honor of Mitzi to the Gig Harbor FISH food bank.
All are welcome. Mitzi will always live on in the hearts of her grandchildren, in-laws and her great and great-great grandchildren: Laurie (Thom), Ashton (Bryce), Jonathan, Taylor, Arin, Abbie; Grace, Dawson; Luke (Kelly), Eirene, Seneca; Karen, Dylan, Emily; Kameron; Adam (Dana), Merrick; Matt, Ashley (Travis), Kaden, Hunter, Natalie, Nicole; Heidi (Kelly), Malin, Abel; Zach, Miles; Noah; Nate (Margaux), Isaac, Rose; Brie (Matt), Francis, Jane; Larry (Glenna), Chrys; Logan (Kayla), Liberty, Charlie;Lauren (Randall). As well as all the extended family members and friends she shared her life with.
