Our family is sorry to hear about Dr. Gometz's passing. He was my Pediatrician and also for both of my children. He was such a loving, caring doctor that it will be difficult to replace such a wonderful person. He was an icon in the medical community in Pittsburg. Sending thoughts and prayers to the family.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I met him while I was in Pittsburg, Kansas. I did not know him but when he found out that I was sick, he came for me, took me to his clinic, gave me medicines and and took me back to my residence. A few days later his wife visited me to give me another dose of the same medicine. All this without asking anything in return. People like him always remind me how much goodness and generosity there is in the world. During that time he made me feel super-blessed and cared for by God. Rest In Peace Dr. Gometz ... There are not enough words to thank you for everything that you did for me!

QEPD Dr.

I was so sad to learn of Dr. Gometz's passing, and even more so that he suffered with brain cancer. He became my pediatrician long before I left for college and later medical school at KU. He continued to be my primary care doctor into my 20's and was an important and supportive mentor throughout my career. I later brought my infant son to visit him when we were in Pittsburg. Dr. Gometz was one of the most compassionate and caring physicians I have known. We are so fortunate he came to Pittsburg to build his career and practice. My sincere condolences to his family, friends and the community of Pittsburg, as you celebrate the life of this remarkable man.
With respect and gratitude,
Jennifer Hagman, MD
