It is with profound grief and immense love that we share the passing of Mohanlal Nathabhai Kalola, a cherished husband, an extraordinary father, and a quiet pillar of wisdom whose presence shaped the lives of all who knew him. Mohanlal left this world on November 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of grace, strength, and unwavering integrity. He was born on April 10, 1942, in Vanthali, Gujarat, India, where the foundations of his gentle spirit and deep compassion were first formed.

Mohanlal began his life's work as a devoted English teacher, a role in which he offered far more than lessons in language. To his students, he was a guide, a mentor, and often a source of reassurance-someone who understood that true education was about nurturing hearts as much as minds. Later, he followed his calling into the legal profession, becoming an advocate whose quiet determination and profound sense of justice transformed countless lives. Whether representing paying clients or offering pro bono counsel to those in need, Mohanlal carried himself with the steadiness of Atticus Finch-principled, empathetic, and unwavering in his belief that justice belonged to everyone. His kindness was not loud, but it was powerful, and it touched every person who crossed his path.

After retiring, Mohanlal spent 21 peaceful years in Marlboro, New Jersey, where he cultivated one of his greatest joys-reading. Books were his lifelong companions, feeding his endless curiosity and his deep desire to understand the world and the people within it. His family will forever remember the quiet comfort of seeing him with a book in hand, lost in stories yet always ready with a word of wisdom when someone needed him.

Mohanlal is survived by those who loved him most deeply: his devoted wife, Devkunvar Kalola; his brothers, Jay and Dayalal; his sons, Ajay and Pradip Kalola; his daughter, Urmi Unjia; and his treasured grandchildren, Shaan, Krupa, Kishan, and Krishna. He now joins in peace his beloved parents, Nathabhai and Nanduben, his siblings Premjibhai, Mithiben & Muktaben.
