COAL TOWNSHIP - Mollie M. Biddinger, 95, of Coal Township, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, at Mountain View Manor: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Shamokin, May 19, 1929, a daughter of the late William and Margaret (Goss) Shuey.
Mollie worked her first job as a waitress at Arvey Restaurant on Independence Street, then she was a presser at Shroyer's Dress Factory and Arrow Shirt Factory.
On May 31, 1947, at Gowen City Lutheran Church, she married the late Ned O. Biddinger.
Mollie was strong in her faith, she loved to read her Bible, was a Sunday school teacher and a member of Grace Chapel and Christian and Missionary Alliance churches.
Mollie's greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She was the family caregiver. She would write beautiful cards for her family and friends. She enjoyed baking her special cupcakes and took great pleasure in having dinner with friends.
Mollie had two daughters, Dianne Brightbill and her husband, Russ, of Coal Township, who survives, and the late, Linda Heath, who passed away in 2017.
In addition to her daughter, Mollie is survived by three granddaughters, Jennifer Reed, and her husband, Harry, of Coal Township, Melissa Burns and her husband, Ray, of Shamokin, and Michelle Heath, of Coal Township; two grandsons, David Heath, of Coal Township, and Eric Brightbill and his wife, Stacy, of Shamokin; 10 great-grandchildren, Brieanna Lindstrom, Kiersten Allan and her husband, Zach, Gabriel Burns, Preston Burns, Tyrone Garrison, Wesley Metzinger, Levi Metzinger, Chase Reed, Aliana Brightbill and Dalton Brightbill; six great-great-grandchildren; a special nephew, William "Billy" Jones; and many niece, and nephews whom she loved so much.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mollie was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Heath; two sisters, Margaret Jones and her husband, Edward, and Catherine Shurgalla and her husband, George; two brothers, George Shuey and William Shuey; and nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her siblings.
BIDDINGER - Mollie M. Biddinger, 95, of Coal Township. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with William Jones officiating at Farrow-Campbell Funeral and Cremation Service, 240 W. Chestnut St., Shamokin, Lori Ann Campbell, supervisor. Viewing will be held prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be private at Odd Fellows Cemetery. So many beautiful memories of Aunt Moll. I have to say the best and most influential was when I was a child, she took me to church. It was there at Grace Chapel that I received my Lord Jesus as my Savior. There is no better legacy than leading someone to Christ!
