Mona Beierschmitt

Mona Yvonne Beierschmitt passed away peacefully at home in the early morning of January 22nd, 2026. Known to friends as Yvonne, she was a devout Christian who was born on October 7th, 1935 in Copenhagen, Denmark. She immigrated to America in 1966 and settled in Louisville, KY for over three decades, where she raised her family and worked at K-Mart. After retirement, she moved to Pembroke Pines, FL, where she remained for over twenty years before moving in with her family in Norwalk, CT to spend her final years.

Yvonne was a trusted friend by many and thrived on helping people in any way she could. She balanced a colorful life of excitement with a deep devotion to family. Yvonne loved going on long walks, reading, knitting, doing puzzles, and doting on her loved ones just as much as she enjoyed riding motorcycles and dancing. She was magnificently clumsy, a trait that was equal parts hilarious and concerning to her loved ones.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her son, Scott Beierschmitt, and her daughter, Teresa Marcum. She is survived by her son, Kim Beierschmitt, her daughter, Tammy Maldonado, and two granddaughters, Ash Maldonado and Haley Maldonado.
