OWENSBORO - Mona Joan Cole (Smith), 83, went home to be with the Lord on December 18th, 2025. She was born August 30th, 1942 in the Sunnydale Community of Ohio County, KY to the late William McKinley and Alpha S. Smith “Bean.”
Mona was a nurse, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a happy person and always had a smile on her face. She loved cooking, gardening and visiting with friends and family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Alton Brenton Cole and son, Kevin Ray Cole.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Brenton McKinley Cole (Daphne) and Kimberly Cole Spurrier (Kelley); grandchildren; Ashley Shaver, Jaime Cole Turner (Daniel), Jacob Kelley Spurrier and Benjamin Cole Spurrier; sister, Martha Alvey; several great-grandchildren and beloved nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Services will be held Monday, December 22nd, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunnydale Cemetery. Online messages of condolence may be sent to bevilbrosfuneralhomes.com.
