Monica Carter Obituary
Monica, also known by many has "Mook", was born on May 29, 1988, to Penny L. Carter in Rome, NY. She worked, at several jobs, in Rome, NY - Byrne Dairy, ACE Hardware, R-Tronics, LLC and Stan's Seafood, Inc.
Monica's favorite past times were Urban Archeology, knitting, gardening, loving her children and hanging with family and friends, Jesse Fox and John Boden.
Monica is survived by her loving and devoted mother, Penny; she was blessed with two stepfathers who loved and cared for her, Eric Legler and John McDevitt; her children, Jaylynn and Seth; stepson, Noah; sisters and brothers, Caroline, Mercedes, Zackery and Mason; and many nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by the people who loved her.
The family would like to thank the staff at Rome and St. Joseph's Hospital.
There will be a Memorial Service/Celebration of Life at Zion Episcopal Church, 140 West Liberty St., Rome, on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1 p.m. A potluck dinner will follow after the service from 2-4:30 p.m.
