Monica Pflugh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Oct. 1, 2025.
Monica Pflugh, age 43, of Ellwood City, passed unexpectedly on August 19, 2025, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born December 18, 1981, in Beaver, she was the daughter of Diana (Charles) Pflugh, of Frisco, and Larry (Cindy) James, of North Sewickley.
A devoted mother, Monica poured her heart and soul into raising her beloved son. Monica's warm spirit and kind heart extended far beyond her immediate family. She was known for her selflessness and ability to care for others, often putting their needs before her own. This innate kindness touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her.
In recent years, Monica discovered a newfound passion for landscaping, spending countless hours transforming spaces into vibrant sanctuaries of beauty. Her artistic inclinations were further expressed through photography, coloring, and various arts and crafts, where she channeled her creativity and expressed her love for the world around her.
She is survived by a son, Cain McCandless; grandparents, Annette Moody, of Franklin Twp.. Donald (Deb) Pflugh, of North Sewickley, and Janet (Darrell) Copeland, of Missouri; siblings, Heath Pflugh, of Chewton, Tara (Guy) Mohr, of Franklin Twp., Halley Book, of Frisco, and Taylor James, of North Sewickley; nephews, Gage Pflugh, Preston Book, and Issac Mohr; nieces, Zoey Pflugh, McKenzie Mohr, and Mia Karenbauer. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Moody and John Ida James; her great-grandparents, Lotti Johnson, Sumner Moody, and Myrtle Moody; and her aunts, Amy Pflugh and Kim (Pflugh) Lacey.
Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.willigfuneralcremationservices.com. There will be no public services; her family will hold a private celebration.
