Mrs. Monica Rusk

Monica Rusk of Wilmington passed away peacefully Sunday morning at home after a long illness. Monica was born in Redgranite, Wisconsin in 1928 and was a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Nursing in 1949. Monica was the devoted wife of Daniel M. Rusk, Jr. and the wonderful mother of six children, Daniel M. Rusk III and his wife, Mimi, of Shawnee, PA; Todd Rusk and his wife, Helen, of Kunkletown, PA; Donna Main and her husband, Steve, of Berlin, MD; Barbara Paolillo and her husband, Paul, of Allentown, NJ; John Rusk and his wife, Sally, of Wilmington; and the late Chad Rusk. She is beloved by eleven grandchildren, Paul, Sarah, Christopher, Lynn, Kimberly, Austin, Matthew, Caroline, Don, Cali, and Daniel IV; and three great grandchildren, Madison, Michael, and Emma. She was also the loving sister of Michael Steger of Lompoc, CA, Thelma Steger of Redgranite, WI, and John Oleson of Baltimore, MD. She was predeceased by her parents, Clemens Steger and Thelma Oleson Steger, first husband Donald H. Morley, M.D., and her son, Chad Rusk. Monica was an avid quilter and was the former President of the Arden Quilters. She was also active in the Friends of Rockwood Museum, as well as being a Brownie Troop Leader, a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a Sunday School teacher. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Grace Episcopal Church, 4900 Concord Pike, DE 19803.
