Monica Wald Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Peterson Chapel – Buffalo on Dec. 29, 2025.
Monica Vivian Wald, passed away on December 27, 2025 in Buffalo, MN. Monica was born April 20, 1945, in Eden, SD to Raymond and Vivian (Keintz) Jaspers. She grew up surrounded by the close-knit community of the Eden area. On June 27, 1987, she remarried to Dale A. Wald, leaving SD with her children, starting a new life in a new marriage in MN.

At just 16 months old Monica was paralyzed by polio, a life-changing event that might have discouraged others but only strengthened her resolve. She never considered herself disadvantaged and never allowed her circumstances to limit her dreams, her accomplishments, or her joy. Her life was a testament to perseverance, courage, and an unwavering belief in her own abilities.

For more than 25 years, Monica built a thriving business, earning a reputation as one of the top sales professionals in a challenging and competitive market. Tenacious and determined, she refused to accept defeat or take "no" for an answer, always meeting challenges head on.

Monica was remarkable not just for her achievements, but for the way she inspired others. Friends, colleagues, and loved ones can all attest to her bright spirit, her generosity, and her drive to live fully without excuses. Her legacy is one of hard work, resilience, and a kind heart that touched everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Vivian Jaspers and her first husband Robert J Rowland.

Monica is survived by her husband Dale Wald; brother, Darius (Angela) Jasper; Children, Bernadette (Mike) Aberle, Jonathan (Inge) Rowland, Sheila Rowland, Robin Rowland and Greg Wald; Grandchildren, Christina & Amanda Aberle.
