Monika E.I. Wendt

Monika E. I. (Happ) Wendt, 75, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 26, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. She was the wife of the late Dieter Wendt. Born in Lohr am Main, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Elfriede (Kalkbrenner) Happ. In Germany she worked for Salamander-Schwind Shoe Store and when she moved to United States she worked as a Courier for the Globe Times for over 25 years until retiring. She was an avid bridge player, known as the "Trump Queen" by her friends. Monika loved going to the Casino, playing Yahtzee, Chess, Rummy and she enjoyed bowling. She enjoyed traveling and the beach. Above all, Monika was devoted to her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

SURVIVORS: She will be lovingly remembered by her children Daniela Wendt and her companion Carmen Schaellibaum, Frank Wendt and his wife Jody, Petra Wendt, Anja Marino and her companion Amedeo DiSante, Brian Wendt, and Stephanie Leith and her husband Scott; siblings Werner Happ and his wife Gabi, Manfred Happ and his wife Edith and Thomas Happ and his wife Nicola; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many loving family and friends.

SERVICES: A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 A.M. until time of the service.
