As I sit and think about Monnette, I close my eyes and see her on stage performing. She´s standing there with her fingers on the guitar frets and the pick poised on the strings. She´s leaning back slightly and her eyes are closed. She playing one of my favorite songs. She seems to be "zoned-out". I once asked her about it and she told me that that´s when she has become one with the guitar. It´s an extension of her hands. She said that when she´s in the zone and if she was playing for a room full of people, everyone in the room could get up and leave and, she´d never know it, until she came out of the zone. I´d like to think that Monnette is now on stage, guitar in hands, braced against her body. Her eyes are closed, fingers on the frets and guitar pick poised on the strings. She´s playing. The only difference is that instead of the whole audience leaving the room, she has. Monnette is in the zone. Rest In Peace my friend; rest in power and rest in love. I thank God for allowing us to meet.
