Graveside services for Mr. Monroe "Goose" Gray, Jr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Restland Memorial Gardens, with Reverend Mike Eaton officiating, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. Gray, 77, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria, LA.
Monroe "Goose" Gray, Jr. was born on August 6, 1948, in Shelby, Mississippi, to Monroe Gray, Sr. and Lucy Gray. From the very beginning, he carried a gentle and steady spirit that became the hallmark of his life.
"Goose" was known for his kind heart, his love for LSU, and the pride he took in caring for everyone's lawn. He lived quietly, faithfully, and with a strength that didn't need to be loud to be felt. He loved Lawanda deeply. Their life together was shaped by laughter, faith, and a steady devotion to one another. Goose lived with simplicity and strength. His gentle nature and loyal heart left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him. He was dearly loved and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by parents, Monroe Gray, Sr. and Lucy Gray.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of nineteen years, Lawanda Gayle Gray of Pineville; two sons, JD Gray (Jamie) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and Ricky Gray of Pollock; one daughter, Monica Kelly of Flowood, Mississippi; one sister, Linda Roden (Bubba) of Scott, Mississippi; three grandsons, Reid, Max, and Gunner; and four granddaughters, Sav, Presley, Harley, and Alexis.
