Monte Czaplewski Obituary

Monte R. Czaplewski

December 6, 1970 - October 16, 2025

Monte R. Czaplewski, 54, of Grand Island, passed away on October 16, 2025, at CHI Health St. Francis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 24th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Father Jimmy Beran officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd from 5 to 8 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Monte was born on December 6, 1970, in St. Paul to Ronald and Crystal (Voigt) Czaplewski. He was raised and received his education in Loup City, graduating from high school in 1989. He continued his studies at St. Edward's University in Austin, TX, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in 1993.

On October 12, 1996, Monte was united in marriage to Nicole Denoski in Austin, TX. Together, they raised three children, Lukas, Genevieve, and Matthew.

Monte dedicated 25 years to government service, beginning as Chief Investigator at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. He later moved to Washington, D.C., where he served as Special Agent in Charge at the U.S. Department of Transportation/NHTSA. In 2002, he entered the FBI's new agent training program in Quantico, VA, and upon graduation, was assigned to Laredo, Texas, where he investigated violent crimes and narcotics along the U.S./Mexico border.

In 2006, Monte transferred permanently to Grand Island, where he concluded his FBI career as Coordinator for the Tri-Cities Drug Enforcement Team (TRIDENT), retiring in 2021. Throughout his FBI tenure, Monte held several additional roles, including assignments with the Organized Crime Unit/Major Crimes Task Force at Camp Falcon in Afghanistan, serving as Co-Chair of the Special Agents Advisory Committee, and spending 10 years on the Omaha SWAT team.

Following his retirement, Monte continued his commitment to public service as Drug Enforcement Coordinator for the Nebraska Department of Justice/Attorney General's Office and later worked internationally as a consultant in the United Arab Emirates, training law enforcement personnel.

Monte had a passion for classic cars, especially Mustangs, and enjoyed spending time with his dogs, music, hosting "deck parties", Dad jokes and laughter. Above all, he cherished time with his family and took great pride in supporting them.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 29 years, Nicole; children, Lukas, Genevieve, and Matthew; siblings, Nicki Czaplewski, Ron (Denise) Czaplewski, Justin (Jennifer) Czaplewski, Kendra Bronson, and Lance (Sam) Czaplewski; stepmother, Betty Czaplewski; several nieces and nephews; many family members and friends.

Monte was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Amanda Czaplewski, and Charlotte Czaplewski.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
