Monte Strickland Obituary
Mr. Strickland was born March 6, 1947 in Columbus, Georgia to the late, R.C. and Margaret Strickland. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in Vietnam. Mr. Strickland was a member of Go Church.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 11:00am to 1:00pm ET at GO Church, 3935 34 East, Sharpsburg, GA 30277.
Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife, Gail Strickland of Tyrone, Georgia; children, Monte R. Strickland II (Donna) of Thomasville, Georgia, Christie Long (Mark) of Yellowstone, Montana, Kyle Watson of Newnan, Georgia, Blake Watson (Adrianna) of Palmetto, Georgia; one sister, Peggy Schoenherr (Ken) of Columbus, Georgia; one sister in-law, Ann Strickland; grandchildren, Chelesa Brown (Jeremy) and Cheyenne Strickland of Calhoun, Georgia, Cru Watson of Newnan, Georgia, twins Violet and Victoria Watson of Palmetto, Georgia; great grandchildren, Lexie Strickland Long of Montana, Bryson Brown and Bryleigh Brown of Calhoun, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his brother Michael Strickland.
