Moonyeen Grier Washam

Her faith has become sight. Moonyeen "Grier" Washam was taken home to Jesus on the 1st of December. She has been made whole, and those who love her are left with years of treasured memories. Grier was born, raised, and married in North Carolina, and then came across the mountain to Johnson City and made it her home. Here she raised children, rocked and cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, and cared for her husband and her own mother until they passed on. She showered those who knew her with love, home cooked meals, tenderness, laughter, a listening ear, and sacrifice. Grier's later years were filled with taking painting classes and discovering her talent with a paintbrush, renewing old friendships, time with friends and family, and learning to play golf. She made her first Hole-In-One at 70 yards at the ripe old age of 89! Her eternal life has just begun, and for those left behind she will be sorely missed.
