His presence will be deeply missed.
Dr. Moore's brain is a wonder that many could not surpass. He remembered everyone by name, their parents' names, and grandparents' names, plus all their family history. He possessed an exceptional memory that guided him in helping others medically. He was a self-taught engineer and carpenter, creating anything one might need with household items. His wit and humor kept laughter and wisdom ever present in many different circumstances. He was full of wisdom, guidance, and did not like to repeat himself twice. One just needed to do what he asked as he was asking.
His first office was on East Three Notch Street across from The First Methodist Church. Dr. Moore moved his office to the West Bypass in the 1970s and remained there until he retired with many of the workers staying with him until their or his retirement. He moved his family into his current home in 1966.
While living in Bellwood for over two years, the Moore's designed and built their new home in 1966 in the Andalusia High School Neighborhood. They raised their children there and remained there until their passing. Many friends and relatives were treated at this home for events, dinners, parties, teas, Bible studies, pool parties, Christmas sing-a-longs, and game nights which included fabulous decor, awesome meals, and silly laughter.
In an effort to give back to the medical profession that trained him, Dr. Moore's children have donated his body to The University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile to be used in the training of new doctors.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May2, at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 700 East Three Notch Street,
Andalusia, Alabama 36420. Visitation will be held after the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Aveanna Hospice of Andalusia, Andalusia Advanced EMS, or The First Baptist Church of Andalusia.
He loved you all and he always will…
