Morris Wayne Field, 71, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026.He was born on September 23, 1954, in Cincinnati, OH, and was the son of John Sammual ‘Jack’ and Opal Field.
Wayne is survived by his partner, Cindy Derringer; daughters, Amy (Brad) Yantiss, Lisa Lee, and Stephanie Field-Westbrook; grandchildren, Jack & Myles McKinsey; brother, Sam (Marita) Field; Matthew (Becka) Ahlbrand, Jonathan Ahlbrand, and Katelyn Albrand (Tori Ray); grandchildren, Ryder, Finn, Carson & Willow; and nieces, nephews & cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kelly Field; sister, Ethel (Walter) Herbert; niece, Teresa Herbert; and brother, Larry Van Tyle.
Wayne grew up in St. Paul, IN. He was a 1972 graduate of North Decatur High School. He was the owner of Tree City Sports in Greensburg, where he proudly supported the community, schools, and youth organizations. He enjoyed summers at White Rock Park in St. Paul. He also worked for Schlemmer Wholesale & Eckrich.
He enjoyed playing softball, golfing, coaching his daughters, & attending his grandsons’ sporting events. Wayne also enjoyed gardening, listening to music, reading, & doing puzzles. Wayne always had a story to tell and never met a stranger.
Everyone is invited to attend a celebration of life on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Bruner Event Center in St. Paul, IN, from 1pm–5pm. There will be time to reflect and share your memories at 3pm.
