Mr. Morris Gregory Parrish

Mr. Morris Gregory Parrish, age 72, of Anchorage, Alaska, formerly of Murray, Kentucky died March 15, 2019 in Anchorage, Alaska. Mr. Parrish was born November 13, 1946 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to the late William Haze Parrish and Leah Nelle Crass Parrish. Greg was a 1964 graduate of Murray High School, graduating as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist, and as a Valedictorian. He earned a master's degree from Vanderbilt University. Greg was a Professor of Physics for 42 years at Anchorage Community College/University of Alaska Anchorage. He was also a very avid target shooter. Survivors include cousins, Leah Hart and husband Terry of Murray, Kentucky, Stacy Hume and husband Kevin of Old Hickory, Tennessee, Selwyn Parker and husband Craig of Louisville, Kentucky, Selwyn McPhearson and husband Michael of Hickory, North Carolina, Dennis Christopher of Vonore, Tennessee and Lynn Leeman of Jackson, Tennessee. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the Murray City Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Ruth Ragovin will officiate, and burial will follow.
