Obituary published on Legacy.com by Richardson Funeral Home - Leominster on Dec. 2, 2025.
Morris Bernard Powers, known affectionately by friends and family as Moe, was a man whose zest for life was as infectious as his warm, booming laugh. Born on February 26, 1952, in the close-knit community of Clinton, MA, Moe's journey through life was a testament to his unshakable spirit and boundless enthusiasm. On November 26, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family in
Leominster, MA, Moe's vibrant life came to a peaceful close after a valiant battle with cancer.
Moe's story is one of unwavering love, profound generosity, and an enduring passion for life's simple pleasures. Alongside his high school sweetheart and wife of many cherished years, Linda (Spadafore) Powers, Moe fostered a family and a community presence that resonated with joy and camaraderie.
The legacy he leaves behind is beautifully reflected in the lives of his daughter Sherry Stallings and son-in-law Mike, their children Katrina, Lianna, Nicholas, and great-grandson Jovani, as well as his son Ryan Powers and wife Cheryl Bernier, and their daughters Lexi and Livi. Moe was the cherished brother of Judy Krikorian, Bud and Brenda Powers, Larry and Sharon Powers, Kathy Leavitt, Barry Powers, Bonnie and Ernie Tetreault, Jay McCaffrey, Rick and Jane Powers, and Patty Powers with Pauline Cormier.
His life was a rich tapestry woven with the love and laughter of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Beatrice and Gurdon Junior Powers, as well as his sisters Peggy O'Neil and Betty McCaffrey, Brothers in law Bob Krikorian & Russ Leavitt, nephew Richie Powers.
Moe's memory is a beacon that continues to shine in the hearts of those who knew him. A proud graduate of Leominster High School, Moe's entrepreneurial spirit took flight early on. His business acumen and dedication to the community were evident through his successful ownership and operation of the Twin R&R Restaurant in 1976. The legacy of his commitment to service continued with Powers Service Station, a local cornerstone for 30 years. Moe's tenure as an Elk for over 26 years, where he served as a trustee, exemplified his civic-minded nature and his desire to give back. Moe wasn't just a businessman; he was an athlete, a coach, and an advocate for youth sports. His passion for basketball resonated in every dribble and shot, playing alongside his brother Rick well into his adulthood. Moe savored life's simple joys: the serenity of boating, the laughter-filled games of volleyball, the satisfaction of a well-played card hand, and the exhilaration of dancing to his beloved music. His golf swings and bowling strikes were legendary, and his affinity for keno was matched only by his love for his family. Words like generous, loving, and passionate only begin to scratch the surface of who Moe was.
His generosity extended beyond material gifts; it was the generosity of spirit, the readiness to offer a helping hand, or a word of encouragement. Moe's passion wasn't just for his interests and hobbies, it flowed through every interaction, every friendship, and every challenge he faced. The love he held for his family, friends, and community was boundless, and in return, he was deeply loved by all. Moe Powers lived a life that inspired others to find joy in every moment, to nurture connections with those around us, and to approach each day with a heart full of love.
His memory is not one of sorrow, but a celebration of a life lived to the fullest, a life rich with moments that touched countless hearts. Moe's enduring spirit will forever be a guiding light, encouraging us all to live with the same courage, warmth, and boundless positivity that he embodied every day of his life.
