To the Ridley family:
We were so sorry to learn from Jane and Kevin that Morris had passed away. Please know that our thoughts and sympathies are with you. Although we only met Morris on two occasions, his dignity, humor, and compassion made a powerful impression on us that will endure. He was the kind of man you just hate to lose.

From the moment that I met Babs, the entire family took me in and treated me as part of their family. So it is with heartfelt sadness that I extend my condolences. May you have gratitude for time, may you share love and may you have fond remembrances. Hope, love and Blessings to each of you.

To Aunt Barbara and Family - Uncle Lee was so loved and will be missed by all; words cannot express the family loss. Seeing Uncle Lee at the Family Reunion in Dallas, Texas brings such joy to my heart.....we were all so happy to be with each other....... It was a wonderful family event with lots of love. My memories of Uncle Lee are treasures I carry wherever I go.

I, like many others, worked with Mr.Ridley at the Parole Board for many years. It should be remembered today that back in the early seventies, he was the very first African American to be appointed to the Va. Parole Board, an historic event. He served at the pleasure of many governors for an extended period of time, a rarity then, as it is now, to serve for so many years under so many governors. Always immaculately dressed and with his customary dignified stance, he was a mentor to many and will be missed. He was active in many correctional and parole associations and well known throughout the community of correctional professionals for his intellect and innovative thinking. Testimony to his effectiveness was evident in the fact that when one governor came into office and let everyone else on the Parole Board go, Mr. Ridley was the one Board Member who was not asked to resign. My sincere condolences go out to Barbara, Babs, Kevin and Bobby, his grandchildren and other family members. God Bless you all.
