Morris Frank Schroeder, 80, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away at Olathe Medical Center surrounded by family, on Friday, December 22nd, 2023.
Services will be held at a later date.
Morris was born on June 14th, 1943, in Kansas, City, Missouri, to Frank M. Schroeder and Lois E. (Menefee) Schroeder. He was a life-long resident of Paola, Kansas and where he attended elementary school and graduated from Paola High School in 1961. During these years, he made many lifelong friends and continued to spend time with them through the years. After High School he attended Pittsburg State Vocational School and graduated in 1964.
On June 13th, 1964, he and Patricia Peuser were united in marriage at Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Paola. They became the parents of one son, Christopher M. Schroeder.
Morris worked as a Conductor-Brakeman for the Missouri-Pacific R.R. and after that he started his own business, Schroeder Construction, and built many quality homes over the course of 30 years. He was also very proud of his 27 years of service to the Paola Volunteer Fire Department.
He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and spent many years playing monthly poker parties. He also enjoyed watching KU Basketball, the Kansas City Chiefs, and Nascar Racing. One of his favorite things to do was to attend Vintage Car Shows with his son.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Patricia of 59 years, son Christopher Schroeder, granddaughters Megan Porter (Austin) and Elizabeth Schroeder, and three great-grandchildren Ellie, Beau, and Colt.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Paola, Kansas or The Lakemary Center of Paola, c/o Dengel & Son-Paola Chapel 305 N. Pearl St. Paola, KS 66071.
