Morris Caldwell Williams, 93, of Marshville, NC passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. He was born in Union County, NC on September 26, 1931, son to the late Cyrus Martin Williams and Elizabeth Medlin Williams. He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Geraldine Hasty Williams, as well as two brothers, Buren Williams, and Hoyle Williams and three sisters, Blondell Davis, Pauline Helms, and Macie Warner, and nephew, Rommie Williams.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, September 26, 2025, in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00PM until 1:45PM at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
Morris was employed by Lance Inc. for 40 years as a plant superintendent and he served in the 3rd Infantry Regiment (Old Guard) of the US Army under President Eisenhower.
Morris is survived by his three daughters, Teresa Williams Thomas (Max), Robin Williams Simpson, (Vann), and Kimberly Williams Blankenship (Larry); honorary daughter, Bett Huggins, two brothers, Homer Williams (Frances), and Earl Williams (Sybil), two grandchildren, J. Max Thomas, and Cameron Thomas (Randi); two great-grandchildren, Audrey Thomas and Maeve Thomas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the Marshville Bojangles and especially Patsy Smith, Brookdale Monroe Square and the Via Health Partners Hospice for their care and concern, as well as Bob Young and Roger Davis for their support and assistance.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s's Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or Union County Council on Aging, 1401 Skyway Drive, Monroe, NC 28110.
