Moses Adams

Moses "Tata" Adams, 81, of Bakersfield, California, passed away suddenly on October 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on June 18, 1944, in Bryan, Texas, Moses was the son of Benjamin and Margarita Adams. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia; siblings Juanita Aguayo, Lucy Alvarez, Estella Adams, Juan, Robert, Benjamin Jr., Ruben, and Benito Adams; and is survived by his brother Manuel Adame.
Moses married the love of his life, Virginia, in Texas, where they began their family with children Alex (Christine) and Catherine (Clyde) before moving to Bakersfield, where their youngest, Sara(PA), was born. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and hardworking man, Moses built a remarkable career with Kern Delta Weedpatch Cotton Gin, rising from worker to Superintendent of what became the world's largest cotton gin. His ingenuity led to the construction of the first Pima and cotton gin stands before his well-earned retirement.
Moses will be remembered for his honesty, strength, humor, and deep devotion to family. He cherished road trips, especially to Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, and Laughlin. His grandchildren-Adriana Ruiz(Jose ),Amber Barraza, Alex (AJ) Adams, Nathanael Tange, Kane, and Mia Calvillo-were his greatest joy.
A memorial service will be held at Basham Funeral Care on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 10am.
