Mr. Charles Hamilton

Mr. Charles Hamilton, 76, transitioned to be with his Father on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at his residence. Charles Hamilton will be sadly missed by the love of his life, Barbara Hamilton, his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He was born in Richmond Hill, Georgia on March 7, 1947 to Beatrice Giles Hamilton and Charlie Hamilton later moving to Savannah, Georgia during adulthood. Educated in the Bryan County School System and furthering his education at Savannah State University, he retired from Gypsum Corp after almost 30 years. He attended Bryan Neck Missionary Baptist in his youth going on to become a long standing member of Fairmont Baptist Church serving on the usher and deacon board. Charles Hamilton was preceded in death by his siblings: Daniel (Mary) Giles, Clarence Mitchell, Calvin Mitchell, Susie Blake, Lavinia Stevenson, and Ruth Rowe.

Cherishing his loving memory are: His loving wife, Barbara Hamilton, two daughters; Michelle Hamilton (Jacksonville, Florida), Meeca Hamilton (Savannah, Georgia); three grandchildren: Ashley Hamilton, Kiarra Whatley (Jacksonville, Florida), Shayne Hamilton (Military-Savannah, Georgia); four great grandchildren: Kayden Hamilton, Chance Simmons , Chase Simmons, Calmeshia  Simmons (Jacksonville, Florida); siblings: Rosalie Samuels, Virginia Lloyd (Cecil Lloyd) (New York City), Ronnie Hamilton-Mungin (Savannah, Georgia); five sister-in laws: Mary Wright, Brenda Scott, Eleanor Brown, Jackie Brown, and Shelia Mitchell (Savannah, Georgia); Special friend: Samuel Bernard Lowe Jr. and Ronnie Harden. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.     Funeral Arrangements:

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Fairmont Baptist Church located at 721 E. Bolton St. Savannah, GA 31401. The family is asking for everyone in attendance to please wear all white in accordance with Charles' wishes.
