Mr. Clarence Lee “Sonny” Owens, Sr., 92, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Anmed Medical Center. Born in Greenville County, he was the son of his biological Mother the late Mamie Smith and his father Luke Owens.,and raised in the home by Moll Owens.
Surviving: two daughters, Sandra (Curtis) Dirton, of Alpharetta, GA; and Niecy Gambrell, of Augusta, GA; three sons, Clarence Owens, Jr., of Greer, SC; Minister Robert Wayne (Angel) Owens, and Lesley Owens, both of Greenville, SC; two sisters, Almeta (Horace) Butler, and Faye Chapman, both of Greenville, SC; three brothers, Alton Gatewood, Frank Gatewood, and Tony (Deborah) Smith, all of Greenville, SC; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Sunday, September 15, 2024, 2:00pm, at Friendship Baptist Church, with interment in MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Monday September 23, 2024, 1:00pm.
