Huley Lee Moultrie, affectionately known on the C.B. Radio as “Bumper Jack” was born to the late Rev. Robert Sanford Moultrie and Sally Gordon Moultrie at 527 B. Cherry Street on March 12, 1941.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. R.S. Moultrie, Sally Moultrie; a son, Michael Atkins, (8) brothers; Willie Frank Moultrie, Robert Moultrie, Lawson Moultrie, Edgar Moultrie, Theodore “T.J.” Washington, James Moultrie, Calvin Moultrie, and John Emmett Moultrie, (3) sisters, Katie Reese, Alma Jenkins, and Aquilla Singleton.

Matthew 5:4 tells us, “Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.” His precious memories will forever linger, be cherished and be a comfort to his devoted and caring wife of 59 years, Doretha J. Moultrie, (1) son, Roderick J. Moultrie, (2) daughters, Traci G. Moultrie and Deborah A. Sanders (Joe); (1) sister, Alice T. Moultrie, (8) sister in laws, Corine Moultrie, Dorothy Moultrie, Mary Snelling, Nette Johnson, Cora B. Singleton, Minnie Mae Lewis (Joe), Yulonda Williams (Harvey), Sharon Washington (Gary). (5) brother in laws, Bishop Joe Alls (Jessie Mae), E.J. Johnson, John Johnson, Clarence Johnson and Thedyofic Johnson. (14) grandchildren, (36) great grandchildren, and (4) great-great grandchildren. Huley’s wit and presence will also be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted families, church family, friends and classmates.
