Mr. Jerry Alan Fowler, age 70, of Thomaston, died Monday, July 7, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Fowler will be held on Tuesday, July 15, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Elder David Cawthon will officiate, and interment will follow in Friendship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour.
Mr. Fowler was born in Thomaston on October 7, 1954, to the late Leon Olney Fowler, Jr., and the late Lillie Mae Bonds Fowler. He was a 1972 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and attended West Georgia College. Mr. Fowler worked with his father and brother in the family grocery business, Fowler's Thriftway for many years. He later was employed by Ingles and by Thomaston Pest Control before his retirement. He enjoyed outdoor activities - hunting, fishing, and yard work. He was an avid University of Georgia football fan, and while at Fowler's, he loved talking to the customers. When his friends referred to him by his nickname, Killer, he would always reply, "No doubt!"
In addition to his parents, Mr. Fowler was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Fowler Knowlton. Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer (Adam) Lienau of Round Hill, VA; a son, Ross (Kerry) Fowler of Marietta; a brother, Leon O. (Sandra) Fowler, III; four grandchildren: Ayden Lienau, Hailey Lienau, Starley Fowler, and Bexley Fowler; a nephew: Lee (Ruth) Fowler, and two nieces: Nica Knowlton Floyd and Ann (Denis) Terrell.
