Mr. Thomas Von Smith, age 56, of Winder, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
Thomas was employed by Publix as a construction supervisor, where he worked for the past twenty-six years.
He cherished the moments spent with his beloved sons, Sawyer and Bryson. Whether taking Sawyer to baseball games and practices or enjoying concerts with Bryson, those experiences were among his most treasured memories. His passion for family was evident in every interaction; he was always present, supporting his sons in their pursuits and sharing in their joys.
Beyond his family life, Thomas found great joy in the great outdoors. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting and fishing. Thomas will be remembered best as a loving and devoted husband, father, son, and brother.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father, Von Thomas Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-four years, Amy Stephens Smith of Winder; sons, Bryson Thomas Smith and Sawyer Andrew Smith both of Winder; mother, Allean York Smith of Clarkesville; sisters, Marsha Smith (Todd) Kellum of Jefferson and Yvonne Smith DeFoor of Clarkesville; uncle, Dean (Dana) Smith of NC; father and mother-in-law, Ronnie and Cherry Stephens of Winder; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2026 in the Chapel of Maddox Memorial Home with Rev. Donnie Pennington officiating. Following the service, Mr. Smith will be cremated. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Maddox Memorial Home.
