Mrs. Jacqueline “Jackie” Virginia Fleming Roach, the long-time face of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
Mrs. Roach was a homemaker for many years taking care of her husband, children and grandchildren. She served alongside of her husband, Rev. C.L. Roach at Spring Street Baptist Church in Smyrna, from 1961 to 1971 and from 1971 till 1975 at Baptist Tabernacle in Thomaston, GA. Jackie and Brother C.L. moved to the Powder Springs area in the early 1990s, where they were members of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Once Bro. C.L. passed away, she began working the Front Desk at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory where she took care of grieving families. Besides loving her grandchildren, her most important role was faithfully caring for others.
Mrs. Roach is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. C.L. Roach; her parents, Harvey T. and Pauline Fleming; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and George Alexander; brother-in- law, Mike Mullins; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Jaynell Fleming; granddaughter, Jamie Gossett and great grandson, Jay Gossett.
She is survived by her children, Toni Griffith of Alabama, Russell Lamar (Tamara Beatty) Roach of Oregon and David (Valerie) Roach of Powder Springs, GA.; sister, Helen Mullins of Florida; Grandchildren, Beth (Tommy) Rampley, Michael (Roxanne) Gerhard, Christopher Roach, Martha Ann Bowman, Rachel Grisham, Kimberly Roach and Jordan Roach; great grandchildren, Taylor (Valinda) Rampley, Connor (Breanna) Rampley, Holland Bowman, Rebel Bowman, Ember Bowman and Austin Gossett; and great-great grandchildren, Tinley Rampley, Tate Rampley, Aylah Rampley, and Jay Gossett.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
On Sunday, June 2, 2024, she will lie in state from 1:00-2:00 pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Powder Springs, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2pm in the church sanctuary with Rev. Lamar Rackley and Rev. Bill Rorie officiating. Entombment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
