Ms Karen Sloan Obituary
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Paul Sloan, and Florence and Ezra Ayers; and a sister, Doris Morgan.
Karen was a hairdresser for many years, even taking a handful of loyal clients with her into retirement. After retiring from her long-time career, she drove a school bus part time where she made many friends among the other drivers, teachers, students, and parents. Karen was an animal lover and was recently on step one of her plan to get a bird; she had the cage ready to go!
She will be deeply missed by her family including her daughter, Hilarie (Joey) Akers; her grandchildren, Ezra and Carlee Akers; her boyfriend, Alan Roop; and of course, her fur babies, Sunny and Bella.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Lotz Funeral Home Vinton, 305 E. Washington Ave, with Pastor Justin Liken officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
