Obituary published on Legacy.com by John N. Santeiu & Son, Inc. - Garden City on Dec. 11, 2025.
Dr. Muhammad Firoze Javaid, 87, dedicated physician, of
Monroe, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children and grandchildren on December 9, 2025. He was born on January 8, 1938 in Saharanpur, India to Faizan Ahmed Ansari and Jameela Begum.
Dr. Javaid practiced internal medicine in
Monroe, Michigan for forty-plus years. He also served as Chief of Medicine at Mercy Memorial Hospital (now ProMedica). He studied medicine at Nishtar Medical School in Multan, Pakistan. He began his career with stops in London and Saudi Arabia. He found his forever home in Monroe, building a beautiful life with his wife, Misbah Malik. Together, they welcomed four children-Omar, Faraz, Nida, and Zaina-and a community of many friends and colleagues.
Dr. Javaid was a man of deep faith, and a dedicated caregiver to his patients who had a remarkable ability to cure the most confounding, obscure problems ailing them, offering compassion and humor along the way. He loved running into his patients and colleagues around Monroe even after his retirement in September 2021.
Dr. Javaid's incisive intellect was not limited to medicine, however. He was a gifted painter and cultivated a legendary garden that was his pride and joy. He loved reading and writing both English and Urdu poetry.
Above all, Dr. Javaid was a devoted father to his four children and their spouses: Asma, Maryann, Taha, and Matthew, and eight grandchildren -- Amani, Mekail, Zain (his first namesake), Ia, Thayer, Musa, Mika, and Ramy (his second namesake), and adored brother to his three sisters, all of whom survive him. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Misbah.
Dr. Javaid will be remembered for his intellect, humor, and integrity, and his role as a lifelong healer in his community. His family continue to feel his love and concern for them even as he has moved on to his next adventure. To God we belong, and to Him we return.
