Muriel Elliott Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Olpin Family Mortuary from Sep. 24 to Oct. 1, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Muriel Kay Monson Elliott, who departed this life on September 21, 2025 at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family. She passed away due to complications from a fall.
She was born on March 13, 1939, in Lehi, Utah, to Elwood and Elsie Monson, and spent most of her life in Manila (Pleasant Grove). She Graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, where she won awards in speech and drama. The day after graduation she married David Elliott in the Salt Lake Temple.
Muriel became a licensed cosmetologist and worked for many years as a beautician. Together, she and David raised four children. Their first home was in Orem, where they lived for 17 years. Later, they built a home on Muriel's cherished family homestead in Manila, where their youngest child was born, and where Muriel spent the rest of her life.
She was an avid lover of animals and the outdoors. Muriel found great joy in nature. She was a passionate hiker, reaching the summit of Kings Peak, exploring the Wind River Range, and hiking Mount Timpanogos many times. Her garden was her sanctuary, and she had a special talent for identifying local birds-often participating in the annual national bird count with her brother.
Muriel's home was a reflection of her impeccable and classical decorating style. She celebrated every season and holiday with care and creativity, bringing warmth and joy to all who entered her home. Family and friends looked forward to the beauty and spirit she brought to each season.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Muriel served faithfully in many callings throughout her life. She loved her family deeply, with a special fondness for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Time spent with little children brought her the greatest joy.
Muriel was preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers. She will be remembered by her sister Marrietta Hullinger (Dennis); four children, Glen Elliott (Celia), Tonya Denning (Richard), Joy Williams (Rod), Kaylene Elliott; and seven grandchildren, Carice Elliott, Peter Elliott, Eric Morrison (Kendall), Kyle Morrison (Teelay), Tyler Morrison, Bryce Elliott, Brock Williams– and six great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Manila Creek 3rd Ward Chapel 3785 W. Box Elder Drive, Pleasant Grove UT. 84062. Prior to the service, "Cookies, Milk and Memories" will be shared at 12:00 PM in the same building.
Muriel's life was one of grace, adventure, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
