Muriel M. O'Maley

Muriel M. O'Maley, 87, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, was born on April 30, 1938, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Muriel retired from Prince William County Public Schools after many years of service as a school bus driver, where she was known for her warm smile, caring nature, and commitment to the safety of countless children in the community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. O'Maley, a proud retired U.S. Army veteran, and by two of her children, Ralph A. O'Maley (m. Janet) and Raneal J. O'Maley Jr.

Muriel is survived by her loving partner in life, Don Wilson, who brought her great comfort and companionship.

She is also survived by her devoted son, Randy J. O'Maley (m. Sharon). She is remembered with love by her grandchildren, Anna Fendley (m. Chris Fendley) and Amanda O'Maley (m. Frank Fairchild). Muriel's joy extended to her great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness, Kolby Ray, Cheyenne, Elena, and Callen. She also leaves behind her beloved "fur grandchild," Eddie, who never failed to make her smile.

Through Don, Muriel also embraced and loved his family as her own. She was preceded in death by Don's son, Scott Wilson; and she is survived by Don's daughter, Roby Rutledge (m. Bob Rutledge), and their son Garrett, who was like a grandson to her.

She will be forever remembered as a strong, caring, and loving woman whose heart was always with her family. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and in the countless lives she touched in her community.

A graveside service will be held at Quantico National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Falls Run Community Center, 101 Bridgewater Circle, Fredericksburg, VA 22406.
