Murlayne (Casey) Haman, the daughter of Kermith and Merle Ness, was born July 20th, 1952, in Rugby, North Dakota. She passed away on December 22, 2025, at her daughter's home with her family by her side. She was raised in Barton, ND until 8th grade and then moved to Towner, ND, graduating in 1970. She married Charles (Chuck) Haman December 15, 1972. They had two girls, Holly and Candy. Casey worked for McHenry County social services for several years, until they purchased C&H Oil company in Towner. She worked in the business until they sold it. Casey then owned a bar in Drake, ND and after worked for the state of ND Department of Human Services in quality control and as a regional rep. In 2004, Chuck and Casey moved to Las Vegas, NV to be near their girls. Casey got her real estate license and worked side-by-side with her daughter, Holly, until she retired in December of 2023. On September 10, 2009, Chuck and Casey were blessed with a grandson. Casey spent as much time with Colby as she could. There was swimming, school programs, football, soccer, baseball along with birthdays, holidays, and regular outings, like Foodie Fest & opportunity village events. Casey will be truly missed by all, and she will live on in our hearts forever.
Casey is survived by daughters, Holly Fetzer (Mike), Las Vegas, NV and Candice Haman, Goodlettsville, TN, Grandson, Colby Fetzer. Sisters: Jackie Follman, Towner, ND, Julie Kuhnhenn (Donnie), Towner, ND, Jody Nichols, Drake, ND; Brothers: Terry Ness (Donna), Towner, ND, Kent Ness (Dina), Reiles Acres, ND, Todd Ness (Deanna), Minot, ND. Sisters-in-law: Jeanne Feist (Gary), Bismarck, ND; Suzanne Wanner (Lee), Dahinda, IL; Nancy Volk, Bismarck, ND; Brothers-in-law: Arlan (Ginny), Fairbanks, AK; Gordon (Nicki), Towner, ND; Bruce, Towner, ND; Richard (Linda), Mohall, ND; Randy, Bismarck, ND. Many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and friends.
Casey was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Chuck) Haman, father, Kermith Ness; mother, Merle Ness and her companion, Gilman Sjong; Brother-in-law, Roy Follman; brothers-in-law, Donald, Leonard and Daniel Haman, George Volk; mother-in-law, Winona Haman; Father-in-law, Adam P. Haman.
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2026 at 1:30 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 10265 Bermuda Road, Las Vegas, NV 89183 with Pastor Andrew Mueller officiating. Lunch will be served following the service at 10731 Rancho Destino Road, Las Vegas NV 89183. There will be a live stream of the service.
