Murray Ray Harper

Graveside services for Murray Ray Harper, 78, will be held at 2:30 P.M., Friday, November 14, 2025 at Mt. Vernon Church Cemetery in West Monroe. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 14, 2025 at Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe.
Murray was born on February 8, 1947 in Gainesville, Alabama to Elvis and Zelma Harper and passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025 at his residence surrounded by loves ones.
Murray honorably retired from the United States Army after 4 years of dedicated service to his country. Following his military career, he served as a manager at Tanko Oilfield, where he was respected for his leadership and commitment to excellence. Murray was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, where he lived out his faith. Murray was preceded in death by his father, Elvis Harper; mother, Zelma Harper; and brother, Troy Harper.
Murray is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Anita Harper; daughter, Stephanie Gonnillini and husband, Don; daughter, Alicia Harper; grandchildren, Dalton Gonnillini and wife Kendal, Mia Dean and Logan Dean; brother, Buddy Harper; niece, Lisa Sadler; nephew, Troy Harper and wife Sandy; and other cherished family and friends.
Honoring Murray as pallbearers are Bruce Shelton, Don Gonnillini, Dalton Gonnillini, Ross Shelton, Colton Bigelow and Bubba Miller.
