Myra Elizabeth Clemmons was born April 17, 1963 to Luemma and Clyde Clemmons in, St. Louis, MO. Myra attended high school at Cardinal Ritter College Preparatory. She moved on to college at Drake University in 1980. Myra then entered the U.S. Marine Corps. She served 9 years moving up the ranks to become sergeant and attended Temple University where she became a court stenographer. She was honorably discharged in 1989. She went on to work for Citicorp and then the U.S. Government while continuing her many hobbies. Myra gave back to the community building homes with Habitat for Humanity. Myra was a loving foster parent. She was most known for her love of reading and school. She continued taking classes throughout her adult life in cooking and foreign languages. Myra was always ready to lend a helping hand. Myra was a faithful member of Friendly Temple Baptist Church. Myra departed this life on Wednesday July 29, 2009 at the age of 46. She leaves to mourn in passing; her mother, Luemma Bolden (Jerry); father, Clyde Clemmons; son, Elijah Garfield Clemmons; sisters, Vanessa French (Charles), Sherry Moore (Albert); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. I worked with Myra at USDA. She was smart, beautiful inside and out. I used to embroider Eli on little outfits for her son. I think about her often. She was loved.
