Myra Kizer Connell

Myra Kizer Connell entered into eternal rest at her home on October 22, 2025, with her devoted husband by her side.

Born on June 23, 1953, in Summerville, South Carolina, Myra spent her early years in the small town of Rosinville before later making her home in St. George, SC. A proud graduate of Harleyville-Ridgeville High School, she met the love of her life, Andrew R. (Ron) Connell, in August 1974. The two married shortly after, beginning a beautiful journey together that lasted 51 years and was filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.

Myra dedicated over three decades of her life to the Dorchester Alcohol and Drug Commission, where she worked faithfully for 32 years before retiring. Her compassion and commitment touched countless lives throughout her career and beyond.

Myra loved all things simple. Never one to seek material possessions, she found true joy in life's everyday blessings - quiet mornings, family gatherings, and good southern cooking. Known for her warm hospitality and her famous home-cooked meals, she made every holiday, birthday, and family get-together special. Above all, Myra loved her family deeply and unconditionally. She lived with a big heart and an even bigger soul, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and love that will be cherished forever.

Myra is survived by her loving husband, Andrew (Ron) Connell; her son, Dustan (Aimee) Connell; her daughter, Celeste (Dustin) Peal; granddaughters Taylor M. Connell, Alden L. Peal, and Bailee G. Peal; and grandson Garrett A. Connell.

She was predeceased by her father, L. McCray Kizer; mother, Frances W. Kizer, and brother Linwood (Lin) Kizer.

A memorial service will be held at Brookhaven Fellowship, 285 Temple Rd, Ridgeville, SC 29472, on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
