Myra Ward Obituary
Myra Ellen Ward, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Myra was born and raised in Welch, WV and graduated from Big Creek High School. She graduated from Bluefield State College in 1975. Myra began her nursing career working for various hospitals, upon moving to Kingsport in 1984 she began working as a home health nurse. Myra married the love of her life Mike, in 1990 and together they raised their one son, Steven. Myra will be remembered as being king and always had a giving heart. She loved reading, watching TV, specifically “Days of Our Lives”. Myra had so much poise and elegance and was always put together. She loved being a homeschool teacher to Steven.
Myra was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Olga Riffe and infant son, Robbie Robertson.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Mike Ward; son, Steven Ward (Katie); sister, Linda Allen (Dennis); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Floyd Ward officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Elm Springs Community Church Cemetery.
