Myrian DaShea Reid

Mr. Myrian DaShea Reid, 25, of Valdese passed away on Sunday July 31, 2022 at UNC-Blue Ridge Health Care, Morganton, as the result of an automobile accident. Mr. Reid was born July 21, 1997 in Burke County, a son of Sheacola Reid and William Howard Wilkerson, Jr. Myrian was a graduate of Draughn High School where he was an active basketball player. He also played basketball at Lees-Mcrae college. He was an employee of Wal-Mart in Morganton and attended Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Gayla Wilkerson; uncle, Mike Reid; and aunt Carolyn "Buddy" Johnson. Surviving are his mother, Sheacola Reid, father, William Howard Wilkerson, Jr., step-father, Derrick Gates, sister, Armana Reid, brother, Davantae Reid, grandparents, Myra Reid, Gregory Conley, William H. Wilkerson, Sr, and special friend, Madison Ervin. Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Goldie and Jay Lytle, Albert and Jill Reid, Tron Reid, Candie and Dajuan Avery, Angela Hall, Brad and Tashianna Wilkerson, Frank and Monique Wilkerson, Brandon and Ashley Hawkins. Also surviving are a number of cousins, great aunts and great uncles and a host of friends. Funeral Services for Myrian DaShea Reid will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday August 6, 2022 at the COMMA in Morganton with Rev. Wesley Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Valdese. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the COMMA in Morganton. Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
