Myron Robert Olson (Tub), 81, of Brule, WI, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Myron was the son of Myron Allen Olson and Ruth Marie (Gemmill) Olson. 'Tub,' as he was nicknamed as a baby, graduated from Northwestern High School in Maple, WI in 1963. He immediately went to work with his father and Uncle Clayton Olson at their family business, Olson Bros Contractors in Brule. In 1982, he and his brothers Douglas and Ted became co-owners of the business. After his brothers retired in 2002, he and his son Keith became owners. Tub retired in 2020 and sold his shares to Keith but remained very active in the business, helping every day in many ways Tub was a very civic-minded person having served on the Brule Town Board for 55 plus years, the Brule Volunteer Fire Department for 50 years, and the Brule Lions Club which honored him with the Birch Sturm Award. He recognized the need to reorganize a committee to update the functionality of Brule's Pine Glade Cemetery. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 139 for 50 years. He was also a member of the Brule Presbyterian Church. Tub enjoyed fixing things, putting up firewood, gardening and taking care of the animals on the family's hobby farm. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and quick wit. He appreciated a good joke and loved to tell jokes. He married Norma Raivala in 1965; they celebrated 60 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife, Norma; sons, Keith (Shari) Olson, Billy (Lisa) Cockerham; daughters, Kimberly Lydon (Stephen Kauppi) and Jenny Olson; grandchildren, Adam (Michaela) Olson, Micah (Sidney) Olson, Jessi (Nick) Fuller, Joseph Lydon, Jack Cockerham, and Brady Olson; brother, Douglas (Pirrko) Olson; brothers-in-law, Wesley (Lenore) Raivala, Melvin (Rachel) Raivala, Howard Raivala. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ted; sister, Sondra "Jo" Peterson; brother-in-law, Gary Peterson; nephews, Michael Peterson, Todd Raivala, and Grant Raivala. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Brule Presbyterian Church, 5810 County Road H, Brule, WI, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service with Rev. Dr. Lindsay Biddle officiating. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Brule. The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff of Essentia Health Hospice, Mayo Clinic, and Minnesota Oncology for their support and care during his cancer treatments.
