When I was a second year teacher, I took a part-time job at Hoggard. Mr. Saus, then Principal, asked that I not start until the first day of student attendance. I arrived at school early to find Myrtle the only teacher yet on my hall. She stopped what she was doing and helped me organize for the extended homeroom scheduled. She then invited me to have lunch with her and a few other teachers in her room. That became a daily pleasure, and I learned so much from her about dealing with...

Although I did not know your mother, Iam very sorry for your loss. I grew up and Saratoga and like she left for bigger and better things.

My heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Myrtle Johnson. I knew her daughter, Shannon, many years ago and remember her speaking with love and pride about her mother. Though it has been a long time, I wanted to pay my respects and honor the life of a woman who clearly meant so much to so many. Wishing you all peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Yes I do remember her - early 60's at SCHS - Civics I think it was. Nice lady, good teacher. My condolences.
